This summer, forget all you have heard, it is hip to be square! An endless square!
Artists Avant-Gardening and Lisa Cheung will be going back to basics and asking what you can do with a square, or two, or fifty. From cushions to dens, spaces to relax or places to play the possibilities are endless, we just need your imagination. Initially, we will start with two outdoor play days on 12th and 13th of July with pupils from the Brooklands Farm Primary School who will be playing and inventing games based on the use of the square.
MK Festival Fringe are delighted to be working with Avant Gardening and Lisa Cheung on this project over the entire summer. Keep an eye out for more public events during the festival and beyond!
Endless Square is a response to Walter Jacks Studio’s Pass the Parcel commission, which has included the development and realisation of a number of public realm works across the Eastern Expansion area in MK built from a beautiful mile of oak. Endless Square picks up the baton to interact with these artworks and deliver a programme of creative fun for all to enjoy.
